2024 Salutatorian

St. Cecilia Academy
From her very first days at Saint Cecilia Academy, the Salutatorian for the Class of 2024 has distinguished herself by an impressive array of honors and AP classes, earning a nearly perfect GPA along the way.
She has been described both as “the absolute best of high school science students” and as “one of our best math students.” As a sophomore, our Salutatorian made SCA history by becoming the first Scarab to enroll in both AP Biology and Chemistry Honors at the same time. Since then, she has continued to excel in her studies, consistently appearing on the Principal’s List and earning awards for several classes, including AP Chemistry and U.S. History. During the summers, our Salutatorian spends her time studying environmental science, neuroscience, and psychology at Sewanee and Belmont University.

Outside the classroom, our Salutatorian can be found playing on the varsity volleyball court, building robots, earning the Dominican Cross Award, and serving as Vice President of the National Honors Society and as Secretary of the Baking Club.

In addition to her outstanding gifts of intellect, athleticism, and leadership, the Salutatorian is also marked, in the words of one teacher, by “humility, gentleness, respect for her peers, [. . .] and love for people.” These most priceless gifts will make her a true asset to her next school, as she plans to study bioengineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Congratulations to the Salutatorian of the Class of 2024,
Miss Annika Claire Slinger!
