Senior Awards Announced

St. Cecilia Academy announced the top three senior awards during an Honors Week all-school assembly in April.
Valedictorian: Amelia Elise Keller
The Valedictorian for the Class of 2026 is a model scholar-athlete who maintained a nearly perfect GPA throughout her high school career. Keller is an AP Scholar with Distinction and a National Merit Commended Scholar. She combines academic achievement with intellectual curiosity, leadership, and humility.

While an outstanding student academically, she has been an instrumental member of St. Cecilia athletics, having played for the varsity softball and volleyball teams. She earned several awards, including the Scholar-Athlete Award, and was recognized as both Offensive MVP and All-Star Team Member. She exemplifies what it means to lead while remaining an encouraging and supportive teammate.

Her leadership extends throughout the school community. Keller is the co-founder and president of the Finance Club and served as president of the Latin Club for two years. She has also received the Dominican Cross Award twice for her dedicated service with Wonderfully Made Ministries.

She is the daughter of Mike and Kelly Keller, and she plans to attend the University of Notre Dame. An Overbrook Catholic School graduate, she is a member of St. Henry parish.

Salutatorian: Grace Kathryn Bauer
This year’s Salutatorian has earned an impressive GPA while completing one of the most rigorous academic schedules at St. Cecilia Academy. Alongside her stellar academic record, Bauer has remained involved in student life and has distinguished herself as an exemplary member of the school community.

A National Merit Commended Scholar, she achieved a perfect score in reading on the ACT and was named an AP Scholar with Honor. She excels across disciplines, with biology being a favorite subject and part of the inspiration for pursuing a career in medicine. Outside the classroom, Bauer is known for her leadership, serving as vice president of her class and parliamentarian of Sodality, both for two consecutive years.

She is the daughter of Dr. Todd and Jenn Bauer, and she plans to attend Xavier University.  She is a St. Henry School graduate and is a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

St. Cecilia Girl: Hannah Elizabeth Broderick
The title of St. Cecilia Girl is the highest honor St. Cecilia Academy confers on a student. By vote of the juniors and seniors, with faculty approval, a senior is chosen who best exemplifies the ideals of St. Cecilia Academy. The St. Cecilia Girl is also the recipient of the Lisa Elcan Bruner Memorial Scholarship, established in honor of Lisa Elcan Bruner ’73, who was herself named St. Cecilia Girl before her passing in 1993.

Broderick embodies the qualities described in Galatians 5 as the “fruit of the Spirit”: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Throughout her four years at St. Cecilia, she has become widely admired for her authenticity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to others and her deep love of Christ and His Church.

She is a Mid-State and All-State Choir member and is often seen in leading roles for St. Cecilia Academy productions. Her love for theater and music extends beyond performance, as she actively encourages and inspires younger students and fellow performers.

She is the daughter of Jason and Mandy Broderick and plans to continue sharing her passion for the arts at Samford University. A graduate of St. Henry School, she is a member of St. Henry parish.

“Each of these young women represents the best of St. Cecilia Academy,” said Sister Josemaria Pence, O.P., principal of St. Cecilia Academy. “Their accomplishments reflect not only academic excellence but the strength of character, faith, and grace that define our graduates. We are proud of the Class of 2026 and look forward to seeing how they continue to serve Our Lord during their time in college and beyond.”
