Congratulations, Mrs. Kim Hoover, on 20 Years at St. Cecilia Academy!

Congratulations, Kim Hoover, for celebrating 20 years at St. Cecilia Academy! Mrs. Hoover is our behind-the-scenes Database Manager. Her favorite part of being at St. Cecilia is seeing the close-knit community, meeting current St. Cecilia girls, and interacting with alumnae.
We asked Mrs. Hoover to share her background and thoughts about her time working on behalf of St. Cecilia.
“My hometown is Hazel Park, Michigan,” said Mrs. Hoover. Her husband’s job relocated them to the Middle Tennessee area in 1992, where she raised her family and earned a BA in History from Aquinas College.

Before the Dominican Campus, she worked for a non-profit and then in the accounting department of an orthopedic practice in Franklin. While in the for-profit sector, she decided that she wanted to return to a non-profit. Since St. Cecilia was a Catholic community, she believed it would be a good fit for her. She explained, “I have to say, I didn’t know a lot about SCA before I started working here, but I love it!”

Given her aptitude with data and spreadsheets, she manages the Development databases for Overbrook Catholic School and St. Cecilia Academy. She noted her job responsibilities, plus her great co-workers, are what make her enjoy her role. An avid Predators fan, one of her favorite memories was when she turned 50 and her co-workers surprised her in the White House Boardroom with a visit from Gnash, the mascot of that team. She continued, “I still smile whenever I see Gnash out and about!”

She notes that the SCA community is a tight-knit one. While she sees some current St. Cecilia students, most of her interactions are with alumnae. She said, “I find these St. Cecilia girls to be loyal to their school, strong in their faith, smart, and good friends to their classmates and me.”

In her free time, Mrs. Hoover enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren, sewing, quilting, and watching Nashville Predators hockey. She also loves to visit historic sites and go to lunch at restaurants suggested by the PBS show Tennessee Crossroads.

Thank you, Mrs. Hoover, for your 20 years of service to St. Cecilia Academy!
