St. Cecilia Hosts Freshman Girls Track & Field Championships
Two St. Cecilia student-athletes took home top awards at the 2026 All Girls Freshman Nashville Metro City Championship for Track & Field hosted by St. Cecilia Academy on April 21. This was St. Cecilia’s third time to hold the event.
The championship track meet welcomed 27 teams from across Middle Tennessee, including Father Ryan High School, Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School, and St. Cecilia Academy. Some of the best freshmen track athletes in the Mid-South competed in this girl-only championship meet.
"Hosting the Freshman Track and Field Championships is truly one of our favorite events,” said St. Cecilia Academy Director of Athletics, Brad Bishop. “It was an incredible display of talent, sportsmanship, and emerging excellence. The event was a tremendous success, celebrating the strength, spirit, and future of young female athletes."
St. Cecilia’s Anna Claire Ammarell won second place in the Discus while fellow teammate Rita Mae Krog finished third in Pole Vault. Other top 10 finishes for the Scarabs included the 4x400 relay placing 5th, Ammarell earning 6th place in Shot Put, Jezzy Wiest running to 7th position in the 1600 meter, and the 4x200 relay landing in 10th place.
