St. Cecilia Academy Announces Campaign for a New Athletic and Wellness Center
Today, St. Cecilia Academy announced its “For Every Girl” campaign to build a new 25,000-square-foot Athletic and Wellness Center for its students. The school began its fundraising efforts in February 2025. In just nine months, it has received leadership commitments of more than $13.5 million, or 85 percent of the project’s $16 million goal. Among the early gifts are two of $2.5 million each and four of $1 million each.
Sister Dominic, St. Cecilia Academy President, stated, “This new center has been a dream for a long time, and we are grateful for God’s extraordinary blessings in this endeavor.” We are working to reach our target by April 2026, to then break ground on the new facility later that month. “Project construction is anticipated to take up to 14 months for completion to enable occupancy and use by the beginning of the 2027-2028 school year.”
The new center will more than triple the space currently dedicated to athletics and wellness education. It will support enhanced programs in sports, fitness, recreation, and wellness to nurture the physical development, mental well-being, and overall vitality of every student. The center will complement SCA’s high academic standards and culture of excellence and provide a wonderful environment for the girls to strive for their personal best. It will enable the athletic programs to flourish and allow students to practice the virtues unique to the arena of athletics and physical fitness while fostering community and belonging.
School Principal Sister Josemaria noted, “On this day when our school celebrates our patron, Saint Cecilia, we offer heartfelt prayers of gratitude for our benefactors who recognize the unique formation St. Cecilia Academy provides. They understand that athletics strengthens our mission and is a place where virtues are cultivated. The new Athletic and Wellness Center will allow our students to flourish as the women God created them to be.”
She continued, “SCA has a remarkable 165-year history, and this project marks its next great chapter. The new center will enhance our school, ensuring we continue to form young women into the disciples God calls them to be – ready to go forth and evangelize the world in truth and love.”
Fundraising continues steadfastly, and all are invited to help make this exciting new athletic and wellness center a reality. Please visit stcecilia.edu for more information.
