St. Cecilia Academy’s Class of 2020 will go down in history, and not only because the end of their senior year coincided with the Covid-19 pandemic. During their four years at St. Cecilia, the 62 young women of the Class of 2020 have been stand-outs in academics, faith, and leadership. They have excelled in the classroom, in athletic competition, and on the stage or before an audience. These young women are not only intelligent and poised, but have clearly demonstrated a readiness to face life’s challenges by meeting the fourth quarter of their senior year with confidence and grace.

The Class of 2020 has been accepted at 157 colleges in 34 states and 3 foreign countries, including Yale, MIT, Notre Dame, Boston College, Stanford, Columbia, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Michigan, Spelman, Purdue, Villanova, and Brown. Their academic interests are diverse, ranging from aerospace engineering and neuroscience to architecture and classical voice.

The 62 members of the senior class were offered over $13.1 million dollars in merit aid awards for a wide range of talents, including academic achievement, leadership, athletics, service and the arts. Fifteen of the colleges and universities to which they were accepted rank among US News & World Report’s Top 25, with another eighteen ranking among their Top 50. The Class of 2020 will attend 42 colleges and universities in 21 states from San Diego to Boston, including 11 Catholic colleges and universities, 3 HBCUs, and 2 all-women’s colleges. Two graduates will continue their respective athletic careers in volleyball and running at the collegiate level.
