SCA New Vice Principal of Student Life

St. Cecilia Academy
We are delighted to share with you that Mr. John Michael Simpson will join us as the new Vice Principal of Student Life. A native of Nashville...
A native of Nashville, Mr. Simpson attended Montgomery Bell Academy. He received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point but declined to discern a priestly vocation. After five years of formation and ministry, he discerned that his call was to serve the Church as a lay person in Catholic education.

For the past seven years, Mr. Simpson has been at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, where he has been teaching theology, coaching, serving as a campus minister, creating the school-wide virtue curriculum for the advisory system, and serving as Athletic Events Manager. Before going to Christian Brothers High School, Mr. Simpson worked at Father Ryan High School, gaining valuable practical experience in student discipline and attendance. He has the heart of an educator and a God-given gift for guiding youth to walk in wisdom and grace. The experience he brings will play a key role in the implementation of our strategic plan. Mr. Simpson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities from the Pontifical College Josephinum, a Master’s in Theology from Christendom College. He is currently working on a Master’s of Education in Independent School Leadership at Vanderbilt University. He and his wife Caroline are excited to be returning to Nashville with their three beautiful children to join the SCA community!
