Andrea Arguello '21 Names Prestigious Scholar

St. Cecilia Academy
Andrea Arguello has been named a College Board National Hispanic Recognition Scholar.
Andrea Arguello has been named a College Board National Hispanic Recognition Scholar. Andrea earned this recognition because of her remarkable academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, scoring in the top 2.5% of PSAT/NMSQT test-takers across the country. Andrea is one of our most gifted math students, taking Geometry Honors and Algebra 2 Honors in her freshman year, so she would be prepared for AP Calculus as a junior. For the past three years, she’s been her Class-Treasurer and is currently the President of our Student Ambassador Board, a group of students chosen through a rigorous selection process to serve as the face of our school at public events and prospective student days. She’s also an active member of our Student Council, our chapter of the National Honor Society, our math honor society, Mu Alpha Theta, and our math team.

In addition to her success at St. Cecilia Academy, Andrea has devoted a great deal of time to community service and fundraising for different organizations but says that the work that is closest to her heart is the volunteer work that she’s been doing for Caridades Catolicas, the Hispanic outreach branch of Nashville’s Catholic Charities. During the COVID lockdown, Andrea provided much-needed translation services and emotional support to elderly Hispanic women.
