Scarab Nation Spotlight Athlete

The Scarab Nation Spotlight Athlete is Cindy Nguyen.  Cindy is a junior who joined the Cross Country team this year and is already crushing the competition.
When asked about Cindy, head coach Teresa Marchetti said, “I have been trying to get Cindy to run for the past two years and I am so glad she finally came out.  I knew she would be good and she has proven me right!  We love having her on the team as she always brings a smile and works so hard.  We are looking forward to seeing what she can accomplish this year.”  We sat down with Cincy to find out what makes her so special. 
 
Question:  How long have you been playing this sport?
Answer:  I ran from 3-8th grade, then back this year. 
Question:  What do you love most about this sport?
Answer:  I love the thrill and challenge of racing people. 
Question:  Who is your biggest rival?
Answer:    
Question:  Do you have any pre-race rituals or traditions?
Answer:  I like to listen to music before a race to get my hyped up.
Question:  Do you have plans to compete collegiately?
Answer:  Possibly, yes!  But we shall see.
Question:  How close are you all as a team?
Answer:  Very close.  Everyone is so nice, it is always fun when we are together.
Question:  What are your goals for this season?
Answer:  To get under 21:00 minutes. 
Question:  What do you attribute your success to?
Answer:  My parents pushing and motivating me to work hard and do better. 
Question:  What are the top couple of songs on your playlist right now?
Answer:  24 Carrot Magic by Bruno Marz
Question:  What is your favorite snack food?
Answer:  White Chedar Cheeze its.
Question:  What is your favorite pre-game meal?
Answer:  A red Fiji apple.
Question:  What do you love most about being a Scarab?
Answer:  All the friends I have made.
