Scarab Nation Athlete of the Week: Caitlin Cain
Caitlin Cain is the Scarab Nation Athlete of the Week. Caitlin is a senior and captain on the swim team. When asked about Caitlin, head coach Joe Helmer said, "As a four year member of the swim team, Caitlin has established herself as a valuable member of the swim team. She has continued to grow both individually and has served as an exemplary member of our team. She continually supports her teammates by cheering them on and encouraging them to be their best. Caitlin will certainly be missed next year!" We sat down with Caitlin to find out what makes her so special.
Question: How long have you been swimming?
Answer: Since I was a freshman.
Question: What do you love most about swimming?
Answer: I love how it is an individual sport, but we all have to work together as a team.
Question: Do you have any pregame rituals or traditions?
Answer: I always warm up, listen to some music to get mentally ready, and have some snacks.
Question: Do you have plans to compete collegiately?
Question: How close are you all as a team?
Answer: Very close, we are always together, in and out of the pool.
Question: What are your goals for this season?
Answer: To continue to improve.
Question: What do you attribute your success to?
Answer: Hard work, dedication, and a very supportive team.
Question: What is your favorite TV show?
Answer: Grey's Anatomy
Question: What are the top couple of songs on your playlist right now?
Answer: Taylor Swift's new album.
Question: If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
Answer: The entire senior class!
Question: What do you love most about being a Scarab?
Answer: The people here are so nice. It is like a big family.
