We are so incredibly blessed by the amazing artistry of Mary Borgen and her beautiful St. Cecilia mosaic. If you have not had a chance to see it in person, then you are missing a truly spiritual experience. The amount of time, talent, and prayer that is held within the glass can be felt just by being near this astounding piece of art. Blaine Howard ' 19 has been selected as the Grand Prize Winner of the Creating on the Margins Art Contest for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development for her piece "Headlines." Her artwork was chosen from a selection of submissions from dioceses across the country.

Each year one student is named Athlete of the Year in recognition of her outstanding performance, leadership, and dedication to St. Cecilia Academy's athletics program. The award is named in memory of Megan Elizabeth Whaley, a recipient of the Athlete of the Year award in 2002. This year's Athlete of the Year is Sarah Davis '20! Last year the St. Cecilia Academy Math Department and Math Team celebrated the 5th Annual Math is 4 Girls Competition for Middle School Girls. We were thrilled to experience the amazing growth in participation and interest, which brought over 100 participants to this great event! In order to grow and expand the types of math activities incorporated in the competition, we have decided to hold the 6th Annual Math is 4 Girls Competition on Saturday February 22, 2020.

St. Cecilia Academy's two National Merit finalists from the Class of 2019, Catherine Johnson(left) and Jule Voss (right), recently have been awarded full-tuition scholarships to the University of Virginia and Texas A&M University for their outstanding high school achievement.

The SCA Featured Fine Artist of the Month is Senior, Grace Gacetta. Grace has been dancing for all of her four years here at St. Cecilia Academy, in class and with the Dance Company. Miss Ervin describes her as a "committed and creative student" with a "generous heart and passionate spirit".

SCA got 10th overall in the women's division with a total of 89 points! A new SCA School record was set in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:55.97. Setting the School record for the 2nd time this season: Ava Cirigliano, Hannah Neilsen, Giselle Gonzalez, and Cindy Nguyen.

Belmont University's Department of Art and the Tennessee Art Education Association (TAEA) are displaying the 11th Annual Middle Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition! Lauren Collin '19 s is the recipient of the Best of Printmaking Scholarship Award. This work of art will be retained for the summer exhibition in the Best of the Best Show during the Tennessee Arts Academy.

While juniors and seniors have the option to pursue an off-campus internship or travel with the school (this year to Germany, Switzerland, and Austria), Interim life on campus for freshmen and sophomores is anything but dull. They get to choose from a variety of interesting options, from Reduce, Reuse, Retail! to Self-Defense to Tools & Cars to Explaining Einstein. There is a class for every interest, and it is all part of how St. Cecilia lives out its mission of ennobling young women, equipping them to excel, and inspiring them to lead lives of integrity.

Camp St. Cecilia is a summer program designed to give girls ages 4-17 an opportunity to have summer fun while learning. Campers experience St. Cecilia Academy's academics, athletics, and fine arts programs and interact with faculty, students, coaches, alumnae, and parents.

St. Cecilia Academy (SCA) is pleased to announce that three students, Catherine Johnson, Jule Voss and Caitrin Salem have been recognized for their outstanding achievement by the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Catherine and Jule have been named as Semifinalists, which means they will continue on to compete for the Finalist Scholarship that is awarded in the spring of 2019. Caitrin has been recognized as a National Merit Commended Student.
