SCA Spotlight Athlete: Susan Forrest '21

Susan Forrest '21 is the Scarab Nation Spotlight Athlete.  Susan is a senior and four year starter on the swim team.
Susan is a senior and four year starter on the swim team.  When asked about Susan, head coach Joe Helmer said, “Susan has been a member of the SCA swim team for the past 3 years and competing in her 4th and final year at St. Cecilia Academy.  This year is different from past seasons at SCA but Susan always manages to give her best and keeps the team laughing and smiling.  Susan has the ability to motivate her fellow swimmers while still managing to keep them relaxed.  She is a valued member of the team and I look forward to seeing what lies ahead for Susan.”  We sat down with Susan to find out what makes her such a great motivator and wonderful teammate. 
 
Question:  How long have you been playing this sport?
Answer:  I have been swimming for about 12 years.
Question:  What do you love most about this sport?
Answer:  I love coming together with my team to compete on relays. 
Question:  Who is your biggest rival?
Answer:  Father Ryan.
Question:  Do you have any pregame rituals or traditions?
Answer:  Nope.  I just get out there and race. 
Question:  Do you have plans to compete collegiately?
Answer:  Nope. 
Question:  How close are you all as a team?
Answer:  Very close.  We always eat lunch together and drive to practice together. 
Question:  What are your goals for this season?
Answer:  To Win!
Question:  What do you attribute your success to?
Answer:  Hard work and strong arms. 
Question:  What is your favorite TV show?
Answer:  That 70’s Show.
Question:  What are the top couple of songs on your playlist right now?
Answer:  Anything by Louis the Child. 
Question:  What is your favorite snack food?
Answer:  Trail Mix
Question:  What is your favorite pre-game meal?
Answer:  Pasta
Question:  If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
Answer:  Kobe Bryant
Question:  What do you love most about being a Scarab?
Answer:  We are all very united here.  Everybody can really identify as one.
