Congratulations to Emma Regens '21!
Scarab Nation Spotlight Athlete
The Scarab Nation Spotlight Athlete is Emma Regens. Emma is a senior and captain on the Varsity Volleyball team. When asked about Emma, head volleyball coach Sarah Cragon said, “Emma has been working very hard in practice to come back from an off-season injury. Even when she could not play, she was at every practice, encouraging her teammates. She has really stepped into the leadership role as a senior and captain this year. She continues to work hard in the weight room and on the court to strengthen her skills. I am looking forward to seeing her in action this fall!” We sat down with Emma to find out what makes her so special.
Question: How long have you been playing this sport?
Answer: I have been playing volleyball since 5th grade.
Question: What do you love most about this sport?
Answer: I love the friends I have made over the years of playing, practicing, and competing together.
Question: Who is your biggest rival?
Answer: Father Ryan.
Question: Do you have any pregame rituals or traditions?
Answer: I always tie my left shoe before my right, so I can always end up being right.
Question: Do you have plans to compete collegiately?
Answer: definitely in intramurals, but not competitively.
Question: How close are you all as a team?
Answer: Very close. We are all great friends outside of volleyball which makes playing together so much fun.
Question: What are your goals for this season?
Answer: To WIN!
Question: What do you attribute your success to?
Answer: Lots of hard work, very supportive teammates, and I just love playing.
Question: What is your favorite TV show?
Answer: Grey’s Anatomy.
Question: What are the top couple of songs on your playlist right now?
Answer: Anything by Morgan Whalen.
Question: What is your favorite snack food?
Answer: Goldfish.
Question: What is your favorite pre-game meal?
Answer: Chicken nuggets and fries from the cafeteria.
Question: If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
Answer: Tom Holland.
Question: What do you love most about being a Scarab?
Answer: I love how we are all one close community.
