Fall Music Lessons

The St. Cecilia Conservatory of Music is excited to announce music lessons for this fall! With a beginning roster of instructors, near and dear to the St. Cecilia Community, we will offer the following lessons at this time. More instructors in various instruments will be announced in the weeks ahead.

  • Voice - Stephanie Hahn Nolan

    (Photo) Ms. Nolan, (SCA Freshman VAP Teacher, Introduction to Choir, and Advanced Choir Director) holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Vermont, and a Master in Theology from St. Michael’s College. She will teach singing in all genres and styles, from beginning to advanced literature, and will emphasize excellent vocal health and flexible technique. Ms. Nolan has been teaching on the SCA campus for nine years and for decades previously in a private studio, performing arts centers, and classrooms, here in Nashville and in her former home state of Vermont. Recently, all of her choir and voice students scored the highest rank of “Outstanding” at the MTVA Solo & Ensemble Festival.

  • Music Recording Studio Techniques

    In addition, the SCA Conservatory Program is very excited to announce the first group class in Music Recording Studio Techniques!  It is now time, post-pandemic, to begin to use our new studio equipment and start making beautiful recordings of all kinds! More information will be available in the next few months.

  • Strings – Mrs. Antonia Ferguson

    Mrs. Ferguson (SCA Instrumental Chamber Ensemble Director) has been teaching in the lessons program since the late ’80s and will teach high school students in strings and studio recording techniques. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education (instrumental) from The University of South Carolina.  She continues as a working professional violinist, performing in a variety of styles, including music videos, recordings for Vitamin String Quartet Records, and at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Mrs. Ferguson is interested in helping the instrumental and recording studio department grow. She also enjoys coaching the high school students in the pit orchestra for the school plays.

  • Piano and Organ – Mrs. Dawn Seidenschwarz

    Mrs. Seidenschwarz (SCA Choir Pianist) returns to the SCA lessons program and will teach high school students in both beginning piano and organ.  She holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees from MTSU where she studied organ with Dr. Polly Brecht.  She is a Choir Organist at the Cathedral of the Incarnation and is especially interested in helping train the next generation of church musicians.
