During their 7th- and 8th-grade years, students are introduced to the rigors of a St. Cecilia education, while also receiving the support and guidance they need during this unique period in their development. Junior high faculty are committed to welcoming each girl’s energy and creativity while helping her to develop the virtues needed for a free and happy life. Prudence, fortitude, and charity receive special emphasis during these years, as girls mature in executive function, strong study habits, and virtuous friendships. Junior high students participate in both all-school activities with the high school and in specialized junior high programming, including theater performances, retreats, and field trips. Outstanding classes, weekly Mass attendance, intentional formation through the Virtues in Practice program, and a joyful and close-knit community allow each St. Cecilia girl to grow in a genuine love of learning, a regular prayer life, and a confidence in her capacity to discover the truth, desire goodness, and delight in beauty.
