Parents' Association Board 2011-2012
The Parents' Association is a wonderful way to get involved as a parent at St. Cecilia. With the generous support of our parent volunteers, the Parents' Association helps raise funds for many important projects at St. Cecilia. Our organization provides hospitality and manpower for school functions such as the Open House, the St. Cecilia Day Mother Daughter Tea, the Baccalaureate breakfast reception. The Parents' Association sponsors several fundraising events during the school year, such as the Songwriters’ Night, and also provides volunteers to assist with other events such as those sponsored by the Booster Club and our Fine Arts department.
Meetings of the Parents' Association are held monthly throughout the school year and are open to all Parents of St. Cecilia students. The meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 8 a.m. from August through May.
There will be many opportunities for each of you to be involved with the Parents' Association during this school year. Please plan to attend a meeting, and get to know the officers of the Parents' Association and the chairs of the events. If you have not completed your Parents' Association Volunteer Opportunities form, please do so and return it to the office.

Donate your old cell phones and help our troops call home
The MOAA, Military Officers Association of America, is collecting used, old and broken cell phones to exchange for 60 minute prepaid calling cards for our troops. One donated phone equals one 60 minute card. Average roaming rates in Afghanistan are $5 minute! MOAA’s goal is to provide 1,000,000 calling card minutes for our troops overseas. This is equivalent to 16,667 phones and is presently at 58% of that goal with the campaign end date of Jan. 31, 2012 rapidly approaching. Let’s help them reach or exceed this worthy goal. Collection boxes will be placed in Alumnae Hall as well as the hallway by the gym. Collection sponsored by the SCA Parents Association. Any questions, call Barbara Sturgeon at 408-398-7559.
