St. Cecilia Academy announces Salutatorian, Valedictorian, and St. Cecilia Girl for its 156th graduating class
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 2017) — During the annual Honors Evening program at St. Cecilia Academy, Zoe Dongas was named valedictorian, Nicole Chandonnet was named salutatorian, and Brianne Kendall was named St. Cecilia Girl, considered the school's top honor for a graduating senior.
Zoe Dongas is a four-year member of the Principal's List, earning all A's every quarter at SCA. An accomplished singer and actress, she earned an academic medal for outstanding performance in Advanced Choir and AP Music Theory, as well as Best Actress for her role in Beauty and the Beast, Forensics NSDA Distinction Award in Double Ruby Level, MTVA Mid-State and All-State Honors Choir, and Outstanding Senior Choir member. She was also awarded the Dominican Cross Service Award for exemplary commitment to community service. Outside of academics, Zoe is the vice president of the senior class, vice president of Theatre Guild, Parliamentarian of Forensics, a Liturgy and Retreat Ambassador and a three year member of the Ambassador Board. This fall Zoe will attend Oklahoma City University to pursue musical theatre.
Nicole Chandonnet, a four-year standout member of SCA’s Mock Trial team, is an AP Scholar who also earned academic medals for outstanding performance in AP English Literature and French Culture and Conversation. She is also a four-year member of the Principal's List and a member of National Honor Society. Nicole is the Treasurer of the French Club, Secretary of Mu Alpha Theta, and a member of the Student Ambassador Board. She earned a bronze medal, Lauréat National, and was named a Top Ten Winner in Tennessee on the National French Exam. Nicole also qualified for the state bowling tournament. Nicole will attend the University of South Carolina this fall in the Honors College.
Brianne Kendall is an AP Scholar, a member of National Honor Society, and was named to the Honor Roll all four years. She earned an academic medal for outstanding performance in Current Global Issues. With a love for singing and drama, Brianne won Best Actress for her role in The Crucible, Forensics NSDA Distinction Award in Ruby Level, and was named to the MTVA Mid-State Honors Choir. She is the President of the German Latin Club, Secretary of Mu Alpha Theta, and a Liturgy and Retreat Ambassador. Brianne will attend Birmingham-Southern College, where she will pursue a double major in science and theatre.
