Scarab Nation Athlete of the Week: Brette Bostleman
The Scarab Nation Athlete of the Week is Brette Bostleman. Brette is a sophomore and starting pitcher on the varsity softball team. When asked about Brette, head coach Ashley George said, “Brette has really stepped up her game these last two weeks and is playing her best softball of the season. Her hard work and dedication to the game of softball and the team is paying off.” We sat down with Brette to find out what makes her such a fantastic player.
Question: How long have you been playing this sport?
Answer: This is my second year, I started as a freshman.
Question: What do you love most about this sport?
Answer: I love the girls on the team.
Question: Who is your biggest rival?
Question: What is your favorite TV show?
Answer: This is Us.
Question: Do you have any pregame rituals or traditions?
Answer: We always pray as a team and do a special cheer.
Question: Do you have plans to compete collegiately?
Question: What is your favorite snack food?
Question: How close are you all as a team?
Answer: We are very close.
Question: What is the top song on your playlist right now?
Answer: Anything by Mumford and Sons
Question: What are your goals for this season?
Answer: To improve individually and make us a stronger team.
Question: If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
Answer: Pope Francis
Question: What do you attribute your success to?
Answer: A supportive family and my pitching coach.
Question: What do you love most about being a scarab?
Answer: You can really do anything here because everybody is so supportive. It is a really positive environment where you can accomplish anything with hard work.
