Scarab Nation Athlete of the Week: Shannon Schrenger
The Scarab Nation Athlete of the Week is Shannon Schrenger. Shannon is a senior, captain and starting defender on the varsity lacrosse team. When asked about Shannon, head coach Natalie LeQuang said, “Shannon's speed, athleticism, and determination make her a crucial part of the lacrosse team. She always plays incredibly hard against the top competition in the state. She consistently challenges the other team's attack players and can defend well against some of the best in the state. Despite the skill level of the other team, she never gives up and always gives 100%.” We sat down with Shannon to find out what makes her so special.
Question: How long have you been playing this sport?
Answer: I have been playing for four years.
Question: What do you love most about this sport?
Answer: I love spending time with my teammates and working together.
Question: Do you have any pregame rituals or traditions?
Answer: Not really.
Question: If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
Answer: Michael Jackson
Question: What is the top song on your playlist right now?
Answer: Swang by Rae Sremmurd
Question: Do you have plans to compete collegiately?
Question: What is your favorite TV show?
Answer: Game of Thrones.
Question: What is your favorite snack food?
Question: What is your favorite pre-game meal?
Answer: Sharp Cheddar Cheese.
Question: How close are you all as a team?
Answer: Very close. We are all good friends away from lacrosse.
Question: What are your goals for this season?
Answer: To qualify and advance in the State Tournament.
Question: What do you attribute your success to?
Answer: Focus in practice and listening to my coaches.
Question: What do you love most about being a Scarab?
Answer: I love being around my friends. There is so much positive support here at SCA.
