On Thursday, October 19, St. Cecilia Academy hosted the fourth annual middle school "Math is 4 Girls" competition. This was an opportunity for middle school girls who enjoy and excel in math to participate in a day of hands-on activities and competition in the field of mathematics. Participants included 104 6th -8th grade girls from 14 area middle schools.
Keaton Bright, Madelina Huffman, and Joanna Jones were accepted to the MTVA Freshman Honors Choir. Sophomore Chelsea Dongas was accepted to the MTVA Mid-State Festival Choir and the MTVA All-State Choir.
Catherine Bohren is the Scarab Nation Athlete of the Week. Catherine is a senior and starting defensive back on the varsity soccer team.

What do a PhD in mathematics, a PhD in chemistry, and an astrophysicist have in common? They are all Dominican Sisters who are teaching at St. Cecilia Academy this year! Sister Nicholas Marie, Sister Mary Albert, and Sister Albertine bring to St. Cecilia an inspiring enthusiasm for all things STEM.
Principal Sister Anne Catherine, O.P. of St. Cecilia Academy announced that Corinne Baroni, Grace Regnier, and Sophia Rowlett have been named Commended Students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.
