Testing: School Code 431740
Students should have, at minumum, one score for each test. All seniors should have taken both the SAT and the ACT at least once before the opening of their senior year. It is strongly advised that the tests be taken again in the early fall. Whenever possible the December testing dates should be reserved for unforeseen circumstances. Statistics show that ACT scores typically improve with the second testing. Admission offices use the higher scores.
SAT Score Choice:
Both the ACT and SAT now offer students the option of either reporting all test results or reporting the results of a specific test date. Beginning with its March 2009 test date, SAT is introducing a new ScoreChoice option that allows students to choose which scores are sent to individual colleges. Previously, SAT transmitted the results of all tests taken. For more information on how this new SAT option works, visit Information on ScoreChoice. [Click Here]

ACT/SAT: DIFFERENCES
The ACT and the SAT Reasoning Test have certain differences. The ACT tests what a student knows and has four sections: English, Math, Reading and Science. These four sections are averaged together to get a Composite Score ranging from 1-36. The writing section of the ACT is optional but may be required by some colleges. It is not included in the Composite Score.
The SAT Reasoning Test is an aptitude test. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are more significant with this test. The SAT has three sections: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. Each section is scored on a 200-800 scale.
SAT II SUBJECT TESTS
SAT Subject Tests are not required by all schools. However, if a student feels confident in a subject field, she should take that subject test as soon as she has completed the course. Students must be responsible for individual school's requirements in this area. It is a wise idea to go ahead and take the subject tests you are comfortable in rather than to miss an opportunity later.
Subject tests are given in English, Mathematics, Science, History, and Languages. These tests should be taken as soon as the student has completed the course. The suggested sequence is:
- English (Literature) after completing English 3
- Mathematics 1 after completing Algebra 2
- Mathematics 2 after completing at minimum Pre Calculus
- Biology after completing AP Biology
- Chemistry or Physics after completing Chemistry 2 or Physics 2
- U.S. History after completing AP U.S. History
- World Languages (French, German, Latin, Spanish) after completing Level III or IV.
