St. Cecilia Academy Strategic Plan

Please click the link above to see the newly completed strategic plan for St. Cecilia Academy.

The plan lays out a road map that will guide the growth of St. Cecilia Academy and its programs for the next five years. This plan comes at an important moment in the history of the Academy, highlighting its unique mission to work with families to nurture and challenge their daughters to become leaders of faith. St. Cecilia Academy’s 147 year legacy is found in the lives of the women who have walked the hallways, debated ideas in the classrooms, and gone on to serve in leadership roles within their families, parishes, communities, and beyond. This plan is dedicated to strengthening that mission as it becomes ever more relevant in our world.

The heart of the plan is the vision statement, coupled with 27 goals in six strategic areas. The vision statement articulates St. Cecilia’s unique Dominican charism to form young women in truth and love. This commitment to excellence and virtue guides our work. We are an institution that teaches young women to think critically and ethically, encouraging and challenging them to reach their potential as future leaders of faith in our world.

The Oversight Committee and members of the Task Teams have formulated this plan as our basic guide for growth. The Change Management Committee is taking up the work from here. On behalf of St. Cecilia Academy and the young women she serves, I wish to express my gratitude to members of these committees as well as to Mother and the sisters of the General Council for giving so generously of their time, experience and wisdom.

As St. Cecilia Academy approaches her 150th anniversary, the importance of her role in the educational landscape of Nashville grows. In this complex world, young women benefit more than ever from studying in an all-girls environment that is committed to excellence and rooted in faith. Why? Because young people need answers that will serve them in time and in eternity. This strategic plan will guide us as we labor to both ends.
